Permanent Accountant Position | Rockhampton Location | $90,000 - $105,000 Depending on experience Your new company Your new company is a well-established and respected organisation with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, reliable outcomes for its clients. Your new role Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the following: Financial Accounting & Reporting: Manage the general ledger, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations, while supporting monthend and yearend close processes and contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Costing & Operational Finance: Oversee job costing across labour, materials, and overheads, analyse production and cost variances, and closely monitor work in progress (WIP) to ensure costs are accurately captured and allocated. Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process supplier invoices, credit notes, payments, and credit card reconciliations, maintain accurate supplier and customer ageing, resolve discrepancies, issue customer invoices, and follow up outstanding accounts to support effective credit control. Inventory & Stock Control: Reconcile inventory records between financial systems and physical stock, assist with periodic stocktakes, investigate variances, and collaborate with stores and workshop teams to maintain accurate goods receipt and stock records. What you'll need to succeed In order to be successful, you will meet the following requirements: Qualifications & Experience: A tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance, with prior experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or jobcosting environment considered highly advantageous. Technical & Analytical Capability: Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, high attention to detail, and solid computer literacy, including proficiency with Excel and ERP systems. Communication & Relationship Building: Ability to communicate effectively and build positive working relationships across all levels and departments of the business. Work Style & Time Management: Highly organised, selfdriven, and proactive, with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and take initiative in a fastpaced environment.
