Casual Opportunity Available, roster for up to 2 days per week Provide communications support to the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre HEO5 $61.44 per hour superannuation About the opportunity The University of Sydney is looking for a Communications Officer to provide communications support to the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre. The role supports the delivery of general communications, media materials, internal communications, newsletters, digital content, and ad hoc events. Working under the direction of senior staff, the position contributes to the Centre’s research visibility, engagement, and day-to-day communications operations through well-organised, accurate, and timely support. This role requires sound administrative and organisational skills to undertake a range of operational activities on a day-to-day basis. Your key responsibilities will be to: Provide day-to-day support for the delivery of general communications activities across the Centre. Coordinate and create communications using different channels including newsletters, email, social media and web. Update and maintain content on relevant Centre websites. Support the planning, coordination, logistics and delivery of Centre events, meetings, forums and learning seminars, including invitations, registrations, materials and post-event communications. Work collaboratively with Centre staff to ensure communications activities reflect input from key stakeholders and align with broader Centre priorities and initiatives. Ensure communications materials are accurate, well-organised and aligned with University branding and style guidelines. In collaboration with University of Sydney Marketing and Communications teams, assist with sourcing and compiling basic metrics and analytics on communications and social media activities. About you Has tertiary qualifications in Communications/Marketing or equivalent Has relevant work experience in the higher education sector Experience with content management systems such as Canva and Sharepoint will be advantageous Has experience with the full Microsoft Office Suite Has excellent communications and stakeholder management skills, able to build strong relationships Sponsorship / work rights for Australia You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to be eligible to apply.
