About the Role We are seeking an experienced Exchange System Administrator to support the ongoing management and enhancement of enterprise communication platforms within a Federal Government environment. This role sits within an ICT operations function and focuses on maintaining and optimising hybrid Exchange environments while contributing to migration and modernisation initiatives. You will play a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of messaging platforms, while working across teams to support enterprise-wide collaboration tools and services. Position : Exchange System Administrator – $800–$1,200/day super Location : ACT (Onsite) Working Arrangement : Onsite (limited flexibility case-by-case) Start Date : 1 July 2026 Duration : 12 months 2 x 12-month extensions Application Window : Closing 24 April 2026 Key Responsibilities Maintain and support hybrid Exchange Server and Exchange Online environments Manage and optimise enterprise messaging platforms and related services Deliver mailbox and data migration activities to Exchange Online Develop migration strategies and support archive rationalisation activities Troubleshoot complex issues across mail flow, gateways, and connectivity layers Administer Windows Server environments including Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy Produce high-quality technical documentation including design, build, and operational materials Participate in project meetings and provide technical input and recommendations Facilitate workshops and collaborate with cross-functional technical teams Support knowledge sharing and cross-skilling across ICT support teams Ensure compliance with government security frameworks and standards (ISM, Essential Eight) Contribute to continuous improvement of messaging and collaboration platforms About You Strong experience administering Exchange Server and Exchange Online in complex environments Proven experience managing hybrid Exchange deployments and migrations Advanced troubleshooting capability across messaging systems and infrastructure Solid understanding of Windows Server technologies including Active Directory and Group Policy Experience working within Australian Government security frameworks (ISM, Essential Eight) Strong documentation skills with experience producing technical and operational artefacts Ability to work collaboratively with infrastructure, security, and support teams Experience with Microsoft 365 services and related technologies highly regarded Exposure to tools such as Enterprise Vault, Intune, or Purview is desirable Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills Must be able to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance Must have valid working rights in Australia (Australian Citizen or long-term visa holders only; no sponsorship available) As a mandatory requirement for this contract role required by our client, applicants are kindly asked to complete a compliance check and upload their work rights verification at .
