Senior/ Package Lead (Senior/Project Engineer) Australia Job Description Fremantle Ports’ refreshed 2027 Strategic Plan marks an exciting new chapter for one of Australia’s most successful ports. Working within the Kwinana Bulk Terminal (KBT) project upgrade team, this major EPCM project is a rare opportunity with a location in the greater Perth metropolitan area, project stability and longevity, and an ability to have impact, in a project set to significantly increase WA marine trade capability. The projected completion date for the project is end 2032. Role Highlights Be apart of a significant bulk materials handling and infrastructure project from design to commissioning and handover Manage significant high-value work packages Work with an experienced, approachable and supportive Project team Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Package Delivery & Governance : Lead the execution of the assigned work package through all project phases, from detailed design and procurement to construction, commissioning, and final handover to operations. Contractor Management: Assist in the management of contractor performance, conducting technical reviews, and resolving commercial or execution issues to maintain project momentum. Technical Assurance: Oversee the development and review of technical specifications, scopes of work, and tender documentation to ensure the delivered assets meet stringent operational requirements. Project Controls: Closely monitor and report on package-specific KPIs, including schedule progress, budget adherence (forecast vs. actual), and risk registers, providing actionable insights to the Project Delivery Manager. Operational Transition: Coordinate with the port’s operational teams to ensure new assets, such as advanced conveyor systems or the storage dome, are commissioned and integrated without disrupting essential bulk trade services. What Makes You a Great Fit As a seasoned engineering professional, you will combine technical expertise with a strong business acumen, have a proven track record in leading teams and drive project deliverables though collaborative, accountable and respectful leadership. You’ll also bring: Degree in Civil/Mech/Elect Engineering or equivalent. Demonstrated project management or construction management or engineering design in heavy industry experience. (Package Lead 7-12yrs) (Senior Package Lead 12 years) Demonstrated experience in writing specifications, statements of work and technical reports.
