Network Systems Administrator Location: Adelaide, SA Employment Type: Contract - 3 months 12 months DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE WORK, AN NV1 CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE. About the Role We are seeking a motivated and technically capable Network Systems Administrator to join a secure, Defence-aligned environment. This role sits between an ICT Administrator and a Network Systems Administrator and is ideal for someone who enjoys working hands-on across systems, infrastructure, and networking. You will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and expanding a standalone network within a DSTG setting. The position requires a strong focus on reliability, performance, and security, with work spanning Linux systems, virtualised environments, and network infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Administer, maintain, and support Linux-based systems Manage and maintain virtualised infrastructure (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V or similar) Support and troubleshoot network systems, including switching, routing, and connectivity issues Monitor system performance and ensure high availability across infrastructure Implement and maintain security controls aligned with ISM and Defence standards Assist with system upgrades, patches, and configuration management Support the expansion and continuous improvement of a standalone network environment Maintain documentation and contribute to standard operating procedures Skills & Experience Experience in a similar role across systems and network administration Strong hands-on experience with Linux environments Experience with virtualisation platforms and infrastructure management Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching) Familiarity with security-hardened environments and compliance frameworks (e.g. ISM) Experience working in secure or Defence environments is highly regarded Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across multiple domains Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently Desirable Exposure to air-gapped or standalone network environments Scripting or automation experience (e.g. Bash, Python) Relevant certifications (e.g. RHCSA, CCNA, Security) Current or ability to obtain a Defence security clearance For more information of a confidential discussion about this role, please contact regan.fathers@emanatetechnology.com.au SCR-regan-fathers We are an inclusive employer committed to fostering a diverse and accessible workplace.
