This is a highly collaborative position involving regular face-to-face workshops and close team interaction, making in-office presence essential. What’s the role? As a Senior Experience Designer, you will join the Business Transaction Banking (BTB) portfolio within Westpac’s Business & Wealth design practice as a strong senior individual contributor. You will deliver end‑to‑end design across complex initiatives, helping teams frame the right problems and achieve high‑quality outcomes through collaboration, research, and strong craft. You will think strategically, aligning design decisions with experience and platform strategy while owning quality and outcomes. Additionally, you’ll work closely with design leads, product partners, and delivery teams to facilitate workshops, drive clarity through co‑design, and communicate design intent using clear storytelling. You will partner with researchers and data to shape research briefs, validate direction, and iterate solutions based on evidence and insight, while contributing to mentoring and a culture of feedback. You will also help improve design workflows and ways of working to increase consistency and delivery outcomes. You’ll embrace AI as part of modern design practice, using it thoughtfully to accelerate synthesis, explore options, strengthen decision‑making, and reduce administrative overhead while applying sound judgement and craft. What do I need? Strong experience in digital product design, ideally within complex or enterprise environments. Ability to work autonomously on complex initiatives and maintain momentum in ambiguous situations. Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills, with confidence influencing stakeholders and contributing to shared outcomes. Proven ability to frame problems, apply strong craft, and deliver high‑quality experience outcomes. Emotional intelligence: empathetic, curious, constructive, and team‑oriented in approach.
