Job Details: Job Summary: Provides support for a variety of international and domestic tax planning and compliance matters. Provides support for the Asia Pacific subsidiaries’ annual tax provision calculations. Contributes to the efficient and effective execution of the global transfer pricing function, and performs research and tax planning. Oversees international tax compliance procedures and internal controls for the Asia Pacific subsidiaries. Executes complex projects from end to end with minimal oversight, including developing facts and a recommended plan of action while working with internal and external points of contact. This position typically works under limited supervision and direction and will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority. Work alongside in country finance teams to support the preparation and filing of all applicable local tax and statutory financial statement returns and follow up on any subsequent queries. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Responsible for the preparation of all Asia Pacific tax related returns for both CTS and CGD segments i.e. Corporation Taxes, Goods and Services Taxes, including Fringe Benefit Tax. • Manage external tax consultants and evaluate comments and written advice. • Manage tax audits and queries from ATO or other tax departments in the Asia Pacific region. • Support quarterly and annual US GAAP tax accounting requirements under ASC 740, FIN 48 and other related matters. • Assist US Tax Team with the notification and collation of information for APAC tax jurisdictions in relation to the Country by Country Reporting and other OECD BEPS actions and reporting requirements. • Implement and manage new and existing transfer pricing arrangements and other cross-border agreements. • Performs and directs tax technical research and draft memorandum to document and support conclusions • Analyzes and assists with the implementation of domestic and international tax planning initiatives. Builds and improves on tax processes and policies that are aligned with corporate compliance and planning initiatives • Identification of tax strategies within the Asia Pacific region and globally if applicable • Keep up to date on regional tax law changes, cases, rulings and regulations and assist with tax law research. • Review and investigate possible R&D claims • Establish and maintain good communication and working relationships with both global and regional business units • Provide bid support to identify tax issues involving PE, GST and withholding tax. • Support the establishment of new branches. • Due-diligence and integration activities in connection with potential acquisitions. • Provide support to the Global Director Corporate Tax, Financial Accounting Controller and business leads as and when required. • Works with outside tax advisors on special projects, as required. General Duties and Responsibilities: • Comply with Cubic’s Quality Management System • Comply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures • Comply with security in accordance with established policies and procedures of the organizations • Comply with Cubic Human Resources Procedures • Other duties as requested Minimum Job Requirements: Qualifications Essential: • Bachelor Degree in Accounting and Tax or higher with 10 yrs post qualified experience. • Large corporate tax experience in the Asia Pacific region, including international tax and transfer pricing • Qualified CPA / ACA or equivalent. • Strong direct and indirect tax technical knowledge and ability to apply. Skills/Experience/Knowledge Essential: • Minimum of 10 years’ experience. • Computer literate and advanced Excel skills. Desirable: • Experience with SAP software • Management and leadership experience • Good working knowledge of US GAAP and/or working for a US public company. • Knowledge of both Asia Pacific tax legislation and requirements • Demonstrated track record of successful project management.
