We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Analyst, Gas Transmission & Storage to join us in our Portfolio Strategy & Analytics team in Perth on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Manager, Gas Transmission & Storage Analytics, you will play a key role in enabling Energy Solutions’ portfolio optimisation, capital prioritisation and long-term infrastructure strategy. The role delivers advanced financial modelling, scenario analysis, and strategic insights to support Final Investment Decisions, Board submissions, and Investment Committee approvals. Working across commercial, finance, and development teams, the Analyst contributes to the evaluation of large-scale gas transmission and storage infrastructure investments aligned with corporate growth objectives and regulatory frameworks. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain complex financial and economic models to evaluate gas transmission and storage investment opportunities, including M&A and organic growth projects Perform scenario modelling, market demand forecasting and sensitivity analysis to inform capital allocation and strategic portfolio prioritisation Contribute to the preparation of Board papers, Investment Committee submissions and strategic planning documentation with robust quantitative analysis Support post-investment performance reviews and capital deployment optimisation initiatives Partner with commercial, finance, legal and Net Zero teams to ensure cross-functional alignment on infrastructure development strategy Contribute to continuous improvement of analytical frameworks, valuation methodologies and market modelling tools used across the Gas portfolio Your background Tertiary qualification in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Analytics or related quantitative discipline Demonstrated capability in advanced financial modelling, including discounted cash flow (DCF), IRR, NPV, and scenario analysis techniques Strong analytical and quantitative reasoning skills with ability to interpret complex market and regulatory data Proficiency in Excel modelling, data analytics tools and presentation software; exposure to Power BI, Python or similar analytical platforms advantageous Understanding of infrastructure investment principles, capital markets and regulated asset environments preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate technical insights into executive-level recommendations Working at APA At APA we’re committed to fostering a safe and inclusive workplace where you can achieve your best.
