CPP Civil CPP have a dedicated in-house Civil construction department that plays a critical role in project delivery, providing scoping, estimating, management, and construction of civil works across transmission lines, renewables, and utility projects, giving us greater control over key project components. Our capabilities include access tracks, roads, structural foundations, cable trenches, conduits, oil containment, and site infrastructure such as laydown areas and facilities. We also manage bulk earthworks, drainage, fencing, and signage, ensuring seamless integration of civil works into every project we deliver. The Opportunity We’re looking for an experienced surveyor ready to take the next step into a Survey Lead role within our growing Civil capability. This is a newly created position, offering the opportunity to lead and build the surveying function within the business. You’ll take ownership of survey delivery across multiple project sites, setting standards, establishing systems and driving consistency from mobilisation through to completion. Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers and Construction teams, you’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate set out, strong survey governance and alignment with construction programs, minimising rework and supporting high quality project outcomes. This is a pivotal role for the business, with the opportunity to shape the future of survey delivery and, over time, build and lead your own team, including supporting recruitment and capability development. Key responsibilities include: Leading survey operations across multiple civil project sites Reviewing IFC drawings and validating survey data prior to construction Ensuring accurate set out in line with design tolerances and specifications Managing survey programs to align with construction schedules Overseeing as-built surveys and ensuring quality handover documentation Coordinating subcontract surveyors and survey resources Supporting tenders, constructability reviews and survey risk assessments Driving consistency in survey standards, systems and methodologies Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with HSE and QA requirements You’ll also play a key leadership role in building capability within the team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and high performance. About You To be successful in this role; you will possess: A tertiary qualification in Surveying, Geomatics or a related discipline Extensive experience in construction surveying, including set out and control establishment Strong knowledge of Australian Standards relevant to civil construction Proven experience managing survey activities across complex projects Proficiency with survey software (e.g. 12d, Civil 3D, Trimble, Leica or similar) Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams A detail oriented, practical and solutions focused mindset A demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement Desirable (but not essential): Registered Surveyor status Experience with machine control systems and digital terrain modelling UAV/drone survey capability Experience in utilities or renewable/grid connection projects Be rewarded at CPP.
