You will oversee tourism spots deliver initiatives that showcase the unique character of our region. What You'll Do Implement Council’s tourism strategies and provide expert advice on tourism management. Lead and supervise Visitor Information Centres and heritage attractions to preserve cultural value. Manage and mentor geographically dispersed tourism teams Develop and execute marketing campaigns to grow the visitor economy. Identify funding opportunities to support tourism initiatives. Build strong partnerships with stakeholders, businesses, and government agencies. Contribute to event planning and regional tourism advocacy. Prepare reports, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with Council’s policies and risk frameworks. About You We are looking for someone with: Proven leadership experience in tourism, events, or marketing. Strong project management and organisational skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities. Knowledge of Visitor Information Centre operations and local government tourism roles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms. Qualifications & Requirements Essential: Tertiary qualification and/or significant experience in Tourism, Event Management, Marketing, or similar. Current ‘C’ Class Queensland Driver’s Licence. Ability to obtain a Working with Children Blue Card. Pre-employment health assessment and police check. Desirable: First Aid and CPR certification. Why Join Us?
