WE'RE NOT HIRING A JOB TITLE. WE'RE HIRING A PROBLEM-SOLVER. The Lap Collective is a multi-brand performance swimwear and aquatics business. We run JAYD Swimwear, FINIS Australia, TRISWIM, and World Ocean Series — and we're in a serious growth phase across Australia and internationally. Our marketing team is small, sharp, and genuinely obsessed with what they do. We shoot our own content, run our own campaigns, build our own community, and we do it with a level of care that most brands our size don't bother with. It shows. Now we need to add to the team. Here's the thing: we don't know exactly what role we're hiring for, because we haven't met you yet. We need more firepower across paid advertising, email marketing, organic social, and content — but we're not going to squeeze you into a box before we know what you're actually great at. If you're a paid ads wizard who's also weirdly good at email flows, great. If you eat organic social for breakfast and have the results to prove it, also great. Tell us. WHAT THE JOB ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE You'll be working across multiple brands — each with their own audience, voice, and goals. Some days that's exciting. Some days that's a lot. You'll need to be the kind of person who gets energy from variety, not anxiety. You'll have real ownership over your area. We're not a big corporate where your idea has to go through six approval layers before someone waters it down. If you pitch it and it makes sense, we'll back you to run it. You'll work closely with a tight-knit creative team — people who genuinely care about the work and hold each other to a high standard. We like each other. That matters to us. We're not hiring someone who's technically brilliant but insufferable to be around. You'll move fast. Campaigns don't sit in draft for three weeks here. If you like structure and long lead times, you'll find us stressful. If you thrive on momentum, you'll love it. WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR Someone with real experience — agency background or high-growth brand side. You've run campaigns with actual budgets, seen what works, and learned from what didn't. You're not still figuring out the basics. A specialist who can collaborate. We want depth, not a surface-level understanding of everything. Own your lane, but understand everyone else's. A person with taste. This sounds vague but you'll know what we mean when you look at our brands. We care about how things look and feel, not just whether they convert (though they need to convert too). Someone who doesn't need to be told what to do next. We'll set the direction, but we need you to drive. And honestly? Someone we'd want to have a coffee with. Culture fit is real and we take it seriously. WHAT WE'RE NOT LOOKING FOR A generalist who does everything at 60%. We've tried it. It doesn't serve anyone. Someone who needs a fully written brief to take action. Our briefs are sometimes a voice note in a moving car. You need to be able to work with that. Anyone who thinks "content" just means posting. Strategy, storytelling, and performance all live together here. HOW TO APPLY Don't send us a resume and a cover letter explaining your work history. We can read LinkedIn. Send us a pitch instead: • What's the specific problem you'd solve for a brand like ours? • Where do you think we're leaving growth on the table — and how would you fix it? • What would you do in your first 90 days? Email thelap.co with the subject line: [Your specialisation] — here's how I'd help you grow. No pitch, no consideration. (We mean it. We'll be able to tell immediately who read this and who didn't.)
