Job Description Your New Role As the IT Functional Analyst, you’ll ensure the successful implementation of solutions within Development Victoria’s application ecosystem by using your advanced facilitation skills, encouraging collaboration and innovation, with a strong focus on end-user experience and delivering business value. You’ll report to a manager with more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry, specialising in project delivery and program management. Under her leadership, you’ll gain exposure to policy and process development, change management principles, and established project delivery frameworks. She is a collaborative and people‑focused leader who empowers her team to work autonomously while ensuring they feel supported, connected, and set up for success. This role is an ongoing, hybrid opportunity, with a mix of working at our head office in Melbourne CBD and working from home - we work flexibly at Development Victoria. Core Accountabilities Understanding, analysing and documenting current business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and mapping them to software functionalities. Collaborating with stakeholders to define and document business requirements to gain acceptance and agreement, ensuring clarity and alignment with project objectives. Developing functional specifications and designing solutions that meet business requirements. Configuring and customising application solutions to align with business requirements, ensuring optimal performance and user experience. Creating and executing test plans, ensuring that the implemented solution meets the defined requirements and functions as expected. Providing transitional support to users on implemented solutions to ensure smooth adoption and usage. Contributing to the development of training to team members and end-users which may involve collaborating with change leads to identify needs. Provide support to IT projects in the areas of evaluation, options assessment and business-case development. Coordinating, participating in and facilitating activities such as workshops, project meetings, stand-ups, vendor evaluations, user feedback analysis. Participating in project planning, tracking progress, reporting and managing tasks to ensure timely delivery of solutions. Supporting change management activities by clearly communicating updates, upgrades, and enhancements to stakeholders. Communicating with stakeholders at all levels, translating technical information for business users and vice versa. Collaborating with solution providers and external parties to ensure solutions are delivered per agreed requirements and timelines, escalating issues as required. About You Desired Skills and Experience There is a big focus on bridging business requirements and technical solutions in this role, so you will need to be someone that is comfortable in and have experience with facilitating workshops, determining business needs and requirements and a solid understanding of technical language. You have experience with taking technical language and being able to interpret it into something that the business can understand. You’re a clear written & verbal communicator who can collaborate well with others and deal with a variety of stakeholders, both internally and externally.
