About the Role We have an exciting opportunity for a professional that thrives in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment to support Line 1 Risk In Change from a technology perspective. Partnering closely with risk‑in‑change peers, project managers and the business, you’ll provide oversight across a broad portfolio of initiatives that directly support BOQ’s strategic objectives. This is not a traditional risk role — you’ll enjoy variety, exposure and the opportunity to influence outcomes across a constantly evolving change landscape. This hands‑on role requires strong analytical capability, sound judgement and the ability to think strategically while executing pragmatically. You’ll need to adapt quickly to shifting priorities, initiative‑related escalations and a high volume of concurrent change. Across the initiative lifecycle, you’ll support the identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting of technology risks, controls and issues impacting the Group Technologies risk profile. You’ll work closely with change leaders to provide practical guidance on risks and issues, complete initial risk and materiality assessments, attend relevant risk forums, and help stakeholders understand potential impacts. You’ll also review remediation and treatment plans to assess the effectiveness and defensibility of proposed controls and mitigations. The role includes supporting the delivery and documentation of Delivered Risk Assessments (DRAs), ensuring risks are appropriately identified, assessed, controlled and accepted, and that the overall risk posture of initiatives is clearly understood. Where gaps exist, you’ll support control uplift activities to confirm change and organisational readiness. You’ll also identify and escalate material risks and concerns to senior leadership, collaborate with Group Risk and Internal Audit, and facilitate the smooth handover of delivered risks into the production environment in line with issue management processes. In addition, you’ll support and champion the technology risk maturity roadmap, helping to uplift capability and strengthen the organisation’s approach to managing risk in change across the technology portfolio. About You You are a confident and thoughtful risk professional who knows how to engage, influence and add value in a fast‑moving environment, particularly within technology‑enabled change. You are comfortable working with senior stakeholders and can translate complex technology and risk concepts into clear, practical guidance that resonates with the business. You bring solid experience in risk management, ideally within financial services, along with a strong understanding of non‑financial risk in complex and regulated environments. You have a genuine interest in technology and how it shapes risk outcomes, with the ability to identify control gaps, understand root causes and strengthen processes in a way that is proportionate, practical and fit‑for‑purpose. You are analytical, organised and detail‑focused, while remaining pragmatic in your approach. You enjoy supporting others, contributing to a positive and sustainable risk culture, and helping teams build confidence in managing risk as part of day‑to‑day delivery — particularly in technology and change contexts. Experience in Line 1 risk or a similar role, exposure to technology, data or cyber risk, and involvement in risk‑in‑change, control design, and issues or incidents management will be highly regarded. Strong communication skills, the ability to build trusted relationships, and a collaborative, solutions‑focused mindset are essential. Qualifications in risk, technology or business, along with relevant professional certifications, are beneficial. Above all, this role is suited to someone who brings sound judgement, curiosity and a genuine commitment to improving technology risk outcomes across a complex change landscape.
