The purpose of this position is to provide assistance to the Office of the Deputy Director-General through daily management of the services' including diary management for the Deputy Director-General and provide support and assistance to the office in relation to a range of tasks and responsibilities that occur in the day to day operations of the work unit. You will have extensive experience in provision of high level specialist support, coordination, preparation and management of comprehensive and timely responses from the department to the Minister on a range of sensitive departmental functions. Your confidence and previous experience in coordinating the functions of a busy executive office will be highly valued as you work collaboratively with units of the Division to support the Office of the Deputy Director-General. Your ability to stay informed of current matters, analyse information, influence, problem solve and coordinate workflow is essential to your success in this role. Key Responsibilities As Senior Executive Officer, you will specifically: Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Provide timely advice, guidance, information and assistance on strategic and operational business matters relating to the office. Provide diary management and high level executive support to the Deputy Director-General and the office to support daily functions and tasks. Provide high level support and quality assure for correspondence, submissions, proposals and initiatives requiring coordinated responses and contribute where appropriate or as directed. Coordinate and contribute to key activities including business planning, projects and internal/external reporting requirements to ensure that they are timely and of a high standard. Provide effective communication and liaison services on behalf of the Office of the Deputy Director-General to a wide range of organisations, agencies, offices and individuals. Establish and maintain effective working relationships and linkages with key stakeholders including the Minister's Office, Office of the Director-General, Office of the Deputy Director-General, senior management and staff. Review, analyse and influence current internal processes and systems to ensure continuous improvement of strategic, operational and governance mechanisms.
