This is a STM Electrical role with Metro Trains Melbourne based in Melbourne, VIC, AU Metro Trains Melbourne Role Seniority - mid level More about the STM Electrical role at Metro Trains Melbourne ABOUT THE ROLE We currently have an exciting full time permanent opportunity for a Surburban Train Maintainer (STM) - Electrical to join our new Kananook Maintenance Depot located in Seaford You will be responsible for carrying out a range of tasks including inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of the suburban train fleet vehicles including the newest XT2 trains. The role plays a vital part in ensuring the safety, reliability, and punctual operation of the train fleet. Hours of work - A standard two (2) week repeating roster of week 1, day shift (Mon-Fri), week 2 afternoon shift (Sunday – Thursday) Free on-site parking KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Check and repair electrical circuits, undertake safety procedures and perform examination tasks. Fault finding (using train electrical drawings and accepted fault-finding practices) including diagnosing faults using electrical schematics and standard practices. Conduct scheduled train examinations and inspections including testing, repairing, and maintaining electrical circuits. Respond to and assist with incidents involving derailments, collisions, pantograph entanglements, fatalities, and other operational disruptions. Ability to work as part of a team and undertake general duties maintenance tasks ABOUT YOU AQF III Trade qualified as an Electrical Fitter or Electrotechnology Technician . A current/valid Full Victorian Driver’s Licence. Previous experience in a maintenance environment. WHY WORK AT METRO?
