The Role Orora's Cans business is growing! With rising demand across Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania, we're investing $140M into our Rocklea facility, ensuring we can continue to meet growing customer needs. This investment includes a new high-speed can body line, boosting our capacity by 50% and featuring cutting-edge decoration and quality systems. The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting a team of between 4-6 mechanical fitters, ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the site’s equipment and services. You’ll play a key role in planning and executing preventative maintenance activities, responding to breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to keep the back end of the plant running smoothly. Please note: you will be expected to start around 6/6:30am Key Responsibilities Lead and support a portion of mechanical fitters, providing clear direction and day-to-day supervision Plan and execute preventative maintenance activities to support plant reliability and production outcomes Troubleshoot mechanical issues and respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime Manage work orders, spare parts and maintenance planning through the site’s CMMS, ensuring accurate close-out Coordinate external labour and service providers, supervising contractors as required Liaise with production, engineering and other stakeholders to prioritise work and resolve issues Promote strong safety, quality, housekeeping and continuous improvement practices across the team Support and contribute to CAPEX projects within your area, including planning, contractor coordination and commissioning activities About You Mechanical or Electrical Trade Certificate Proven experience working in a high-speed manufacturing environment Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with the ability to assess issues and implement practical solutions Prior leadership or supervisory experience, with the confidence to coach employees and contractors Well-developed organisational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise and adapt in a fast-paced environment A safety-first mindset, with a proactive and collaborative approach to leadership Why Orora?
