Eden Ritchie Recruitment are seeking a Principal Procurement Officer to support the delivery of strategic procurement initiatives within a high-performing government environment. In this role you will partner with senior stakeholders across the organisation to deliver high quality procurement advice, drive procurement strategy and support complex procurement and contract management activities. You will play a key role in strengthening procurement capability while ensuring compliance with government policy and legislation. Key responsibilities will include: Partnering with senior managers to deliver strategic procurement initiatives aligned with organisational priorities Providing expert procurement advice across complex projects including contract development, procurement strategies and evaluation processes Supporting and mentoring a small team of procurement professionals to deliver best practice procurement services Developing procurement plans and policies including corporate procurement plans and forward procurement schedules Supporting the management of relationships with whole-of-government procurement agencies and outsourced providers Contributing to the development and implementation of contract management systems Analysing procurement data and reporting to support informed decision making across the organisation Promoting procurement services and building procurement capability across business units The successful candidate will demonstrate: Strong experience delivering complex procurement and contract management activities Ability to develop procurement strategies and lead evaluation processes in line with government procurement frameworks Experience providing high-level advice to senior stakeholders Strong stakeholder engagement skills across government and external partners Experience supporting or leading procurement teams and building organisational capability Ability to analyse procurement data and provide insights to support decision making This role will suit an experienced procurement professional who enjoys partnering with senior stakeholders and delivering strategic procurement outcomes that support organisational transformation.
