Silverstrand is seeking an Accounts Officer to become a key part in shaping the future of our business alongside an experienced team. You will be based in our Murarrie Head Office. This role goes beyond basic data entry. We’re looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, values efficiency and automation, and understands that accuracy and attention to detail are essential to maintaining strong supplier relationships and financial integrity. About the role: Reporting to the Senior Payroll and Accounts Officer, the Accounts Officer is responsible for: Key Responsibilities: Accounts Payable Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner Verify and reconcile supplier statements Prepare and process supplier payments (EFT, bank transfers, etc.) Ensure invoices are approved and coded correctly Credit card receipt reconciliations and coding Bank account reconciliation and coding Monitoring and accurately managing Purchase Orders Maintain supplier records and resolve invoice discrepancies Monitor accounts payable ageing and ensure timely payments Assist with month-end accounts payable reconciliations Communicating effectively with suppliers and other departments to resolve any issues or questions Accounts Receivable Prepare and issue customer invoices as required Record incoming payments and allocate receipts to customer accounts Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies Monitor accounts receivable ageing reports Follow up outstanding invoices and manage collections professionally Maintain accurate customer account records Assist with month-end receivable reconciliations General Finance Duties Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed Essential Skills and Experience: Previous experience in an Accounts Officer, Accounts Assistant, or similar role Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes Experience with accounting software (e.g., COINS) Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good organisational and time management skills Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role What’s on offer: Competitive salary based on the successful candidate’s experience A permanent position with a growing civil construction company Career progression Paid day off on your Birthday About Us: Silverstrand is a privately owned and operated contractor operating across Australasia since 2008, providing quality delivery in all areas of both civil and structural construction works in metro, regional and remote areas.
