Operations Specialist | Water & Wastewater Networks Location: Brisbane & Surrounding Regions Work Type: Permanent, Full-Time Classification: Engineering / Utilities About the Opportunity We are looking for an enthusiastic Operations Specialist to join our Network Services team. This is a junior-level technical role within our Operations and Maintenance group, focused on supporting the safe and efficient supply of water and wastewater services to over 1.5 million residents. In this role, you will be mentored while contributing to the Integrated Operations Planning (IOP) process, which manages over 19,000km of critical infrastructure. The Role Reporting to the Integrated Operations Planning Leader, you will provide technical support to prevent service risks and performance loss. Key Responsibilities: Planning Support: Assist in the coordination and execution of maintenance plans to optimize asset performance. Technical Problem Solving: Help solve engineering issues and technical challenges within the 90-day activity plan. Isolation Planning: Learn to develop and peer-review isolation plans for water and sewer networks under the guidance of senior colleagues. Data Exploration: Conduct research and use business intelligence tools to analyze trends and themes from primary data sources. Continuous Improvement: Contribute fresh ideas to refine business processes and identify opportunities for innovation. Stakeholder Liaison: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure planned activities are prioritized and executed efficiently. About You We are looking for a motivated professional with a growth mindset and strong analytical potential. Selection Criteria: Experience: We encourage applicants who are early in their career or recent graduates who have demonstrated strong technical aptitude in engineering or planning environments. Education: Technical certification is required; qualifications in Data Science, Business Analysis, Risk Management, or Production Planning would be highly regarded. Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret technical information and contribute to data-driven decision-making. Software Skills: Exposure to integrated planning systems, Power BI, or other data analytics tools is a plus. Communication: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
