As an AI Governance Specialist – Data and AI, you will play a critical role in shaping and embedding ART’s enterprisewide approach to responsible, ethical and compliant use of artificial intelligence. Working across technology, data, digital and risk teams, you will help ensure ART’s AI initiatives are trustworthy, transparent and aligned with privacy, regulatory and ethical expectations—while enabling innovation at scale. Key responsibilities include: Contributing to the design, implementation and continuous improvement of ART’s AI governance framework, including policies, standards and controls for responsible AI Embedding strong governance across the full AI lifecycle, from problem definition and data sourcing through to model deployment, monitoring and retirement Supporting Federated AI Review (FAIR) processes to provide oversight and assurance of AI use cases across the organisation Reviewing and aligning AI governance policies and operating models with broader risk, privacy, data and technology frameworks Partnering closely with Data Science, Engineering, Digital and Risk teams to operationalise AI controls within MLOps pipelines, including reproducibility, versioning, validation, monitoring and explainability Setting and promoting enterprise standards for fairness, transparency, accountability and security in AI solutions, including bias detection and mitigation practices Coordinating independent validation and periodic reviews of material AI models to ensure ongoing compliance and risk management Preparing materials for, and contributing to, governance forums to provide clear executive visibility of AI risks, controls and performance This role is a permanent opportunity. Location: Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne. About you It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too: Experience in privacy, data protection, AI governance or a closely related discipline, ideally within analytics or AIenabled environments Handson experience designing and operationalising governance controls across the data and AI lifecycle (e.g. PIAs, model validation, monitoring and data quality practices) Sound knowledge of privacy legislation and regulatory requirements, with awareness of emerging AIspecific regulation An understanding of corporate risk management environments, including obligations, risks and controls frameworks Experience or exposure to data governance practices such as data stewardship, data quality management, metadata and lineage Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with a proven ability to work crossfunctionally and influence outcomes The ability to translate complex technical and regulatory requirements into practical, workable governance solutions AI governance expertise is highly regarded, however strong policy, framework or governance experience in a corporate setting is essential About us Our 2.4 million members trust us to take care of over $330 billion in retirement savings.
