We’re looking for an IR/ER specialist - or two - to join the team and help us deliver better outcomes for more clients. The work This is a specialist consulting role. You’ll carry a client load and deliver complex IR/ER work across sectors and organisational contexts, including: Enterprise bargaining, union negotiations, and industrial disputes Complex misconduct and performance management matters Workplace investigations, reviews and inquiries Employment law compliance, policy development, and risk advisory Strategic advice to Boards, CEOs and executive teams on high-risk employment matters High-quality written advice, reports and formal correspondence for senior audiences Mentoring, coaching and advising our generalist consultants on complex IR/ER matters Clients span the private sector, not-for-profit and aged care, and government. The work is varied, technically demanding, and directly consequential. Requirements Director or Senior Consultant We may make one or two appointments depending on the strength of the candidate field. Director: For a practitioner who brings established client relationships and the capability to take on operational leadership of a growing IR/ER practice. The Director joins the Talenting executive team, carries accountability for practice quality and commercial sustainability, and works alongside firm leadership to shape what the practice becomes. At Director level, the commercial model may include performance-based remuneration and, over time, the opportunity to participate in the equity of the practice. Senior Consultant: For a technically strong IR/ER practitioner with the ambition to grow into practice leadership. You’ll work with a high degree of autonomy, carrying your own client load, leading small project teams, and delivering complex work under the direction of firm leadership. What you’ll need Tertiary qualification in Law, Industrial Relations, Human Resources or a related discipline Significant experience in complex IR/ER matters - enterprise bargaining, disputes, investigations, misconduct, regulatory compliance Strong technical knowledge of Australian employment law, including the Fair Work Act and modern awards. Experience in the WA state industrial relations system is highly valued. The ability to deliver defensible written advice and high-quality reports for senior audiences Commercial awareness - you understand that advice exists in a business context and needs to serve the client’s actual objectives Experience in a consultancy or advisory environment is desirable but not essential - what matters is that you can manage client relationships, work autonomously, and deliver For the Director role: demonstrated ability to develop client relationships, build a practice offering, and take accountability for the quality and commercial sustainability of a service line.
