Technical Lead Contract for 6 month plus 12 month possible extension | Brisbane CBD | Hybrid working We are partnering with a leading Queensland Government client to recruit an experienced Technical Lead. In this role you will play a key role in uplifting delivery quality, ensuring adherence to standards, and enabling predictable sprint outcomes to support strategic objectives, enhancing the customer experience, and delivering a sustainable, future-ready platform for the department. Key Responsibilities: Apply and champion agreed standards across naming, coding, architecture alignment, security and privacy, resilience and operational readiness, user experience and accessibility, documentation, and financial sustainability. Coordinate with project architects to provide regular feedback on standards adherence, recurring issues, and opportunities to strengthen or clarify standards. Review and approve/reject developer pull requests to confirm acceptance criteria and definition of done are met, solution design and architectural intent are followed, code quality and test coverage are appropriate, and documentation is created/updated as work progresses. Validate resolution of technical defects, ensuring the underlying cause is addressed, the fix is tested, and the change is ready to merge and release before the defect is closed. Provide agile delivery facilitation by leading sprint ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, reviews/demos, retrospectives, backlog grooming), ensuring scope is clear and achievable, tracking commitments, and escalating risks, issues and blockers to resolve dependencies quickly. Assist in managing the overall project backlog and maintaining a healthy pipeline of ready work. What we’re looking for? Core Platform Expertise Microsoft Ecosystem: Demonstrable enterprise experience with Dynamics 365 CE/Power Platform, Azure Integration Services, or Microsoft Fabric. QA Capability: Strong hands-on experience in quality assurance for both low-code and pro-code components. Technical Toolkit Candidates should be proficient in reviewing and understanding changes across: Web/Portal: TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Liquid. Backend/Data: C#/.NET, SQL, Power Fx. DevOps & Infra: Azure DevOps, YAML pipelines, Terraform (IaC), and JSON/XML. Component Knowledge: Experience in Power Pages, Dataverse, Logic Apps, or Synapse Data Engineering is highly regarded. Leadership & Soft Skills Mentorship: Proven ability to operate as a technical lead-level reviewer and mentor to developers.
