Cloud Engineer Contract to 30/06/2026 with possible extension| Fortitude Valley | Hybrid working We are partnering with a leading Queensland Government client to recruit an experienced Cloud Engineer. In this role you will implement activities delivering various cloud solution across Microsoft Azure and Amazon web service platforms (70% Azure, 30% AWS). Key Responsibilities: Focus on End-to-end delivery of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions using modern IaC (Infrastructure as Code) practices. Deploy cloud components via Azure DevOps YAML CI/CD pipelines and Git. Author and manage complex templates using Azure Bicep and AWS CloudFormation. Collaborate with various internal teams to meet strict deadlines and ensure security policy compliance. Take direction when needed but work autonomously to solve complex infrastructure puzzles. What we’re looking for? 3–5 years of hands-on experience delivering cloud infrastructure solutions in large enterprise environments. Proficient in scripting (PowerShell, Python, or C#) and automated deployments. Solid grasp of cloud networking (VNET, VPC, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, VPN) and Cloud Identity (Azure AD/Entra ID, AWS IAM). A strong background in Windows OS, DNS, DHCP, and traditional infrastructure management. Ability to pivot to new technologies (e.g., Azure OpenAI, Synapse) as they are introduced to the environment Desired Skills SQL Managed Instances, Synapse Analytics, App Services, Functions, Data Factory, and Kubernetes (AKS).
