This requires active engagement and working closely with senior managers and leads to support the implementation of people and culture initiatives, resolving complex employee relations matters, and driving psychosocial safety, performance, and workforce capability outcomes across all business areas. The Principal Lead, People and Culture supports the implementation of proactive workforce strategies and interventions within services across the designated Programs in order to drive continuous improvement, performance and accountability and a culture that assures the achievement of the organisational workforce goals and objectives. Operating at a tactical level, the position connects strategy to practice, translating organisational goals into practical solutions that enhance employee experience, strengthen leadership capability, and build a positive, safe, and high-performing culture. Key outcomes and accountabilities: Provide operational leadership and team management, foster an outcome based, high-performance culture; ensure staff are challenged and stretched to develop their competence, and provided with opportunities for professional development Provide professional human resource support, expert advice on complex matters and partner in management decision making to drive business performance and facilitate strategic decision making. Understand key business drivers, strengths, weaknesses, threats, and growth opportunities within assigned portfolio and proactively provide insights to enhance financial performance. Meet key deadlines in relation to workforce reporting, management and accountability processes including whole of Government and Departmental processes. Deliver timely and accurate workforce reports, analysis and briefings and contribute to policy development and implementation. Monitor the effectiveness of People and Culture processes and practices and recommend opportunities for improvements. Proactively develop and maintain internal and external stakeholder partnerships and actively contribute to the leadership of People and Culture to support the delivery of branch and organisational objectives. Job Environment The Principal Lead, People & Culture operates within the frameworks of the Public Sector and relevant AGD and Public Trustee policies and procedures. Operating within a complex and high-demand environment, the position partners with managers and leaders to provide strategic and operational HR advice, deliver workforce and culture programs, and strengthen organisational capability and leadership practice.
