The Position There is an opportunity for a Syndicate resource in Australia dedicated to the origination, syndication and execution of AUD debt transactions across products, with a primary focus on the SSA market for both onshore and offshore issuers. This role will be central to expanding BofA's presence in the high-grade Kangaroo segment while supporting the coverage of domestic Rates issuers, including sovereign and semi-government borrowers, alongside AUD credit transactions. The position will hold full execution responsibility for all AUD SSA issuance, working closely with domestic stakeholders and coordinating seamlessly with offshore DCM teams to capture global issuance opportunities. The role will be deeply involved throughout every stage of the transaction lifecycle, including organizing and arranging issuer marketing, gathering and synthesizing investor feedback, shaping issuer strategy, and driving momentum through execution. In addition, the position requires strong risk awareness and proactive engagement with Compliance and Legal to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and BofA's broader governance standards. Key Competencies / Skills Deep familiarity with bond market transaction processes , with an emphasis on SSA and high-grade issuance in the AUD market. Strong knowledge of the Australian issuer and investor landscape , including understanding the dynamics of sovereigns, semi-governments and supranational agencies. Solid understanding of bond maths and derivatives , particularly as they relate to pricing, execution and risk management in SSA-focused transactions. Proficiency in Fixed Income analytics , with the ability to interpret curve behavior, spreads, swap dynamics and cross-market comparable relevant to SSA borrowers. Experience using Bloomberg for market monitoring, pricing, analytics and investor targeting, with fluency in SSA-relevant functions. Exceptional attention to detail to ensure precision in market data, pricing indications, investor feedback and transaction documentation. Confidence in pitching trade ideas and execution strategies to high-grade issuers and leading transactions across both Kangaroo SSA and domestic Rates markets. Strong business and industry knowledge , with a deep understanding of both global SSA funding programs and the local AUD capital markets ecosystem. Comprehensive understanding of AUD rates markets and issuing dynamics , including swap markets, curve structure and demand drivers for SSAs and semi-governments. Knowledge of global borrowers active in AUD markets , including issuance patterns, funding frameworks and investor reception. Understanding of AUD specific documentation requirements and formats suitable for SSA, semi-government and high-grade credit issuers. Existing relationships with key debt decision makers , particularly among sovereign, semi-government and SSA issuers, is highly advantageous. Awareness of the regulatory environment relevant to DCM and syndicate activities, including governance and disclosure requirements for SSA and Rates markets. Ability to work effectively in a small, high performing team , demonstrating strong collaboration and communication skills. Close coordination with Asian and global syndicate desks , ensuring consistent messaging, investor engagement and global alignment on SSA opportunities.
