A top tier financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Strategy to join its strategy function. This is a senior role designed for a high-performing consultant looking to step into industry at a leadership level. The role sits at the centre of the organisation’s strategic agenda, partnering closely with senior executives to shape long-term strategy and drive enterprise-wide initiatives. You will lead complex strategic problem-solving across the business — framing issues, structuring analysis and guiding teams to deliver clear, actionable recommendations that influence key decisions at the executive and board level. Key Responsibilities Strategy Leadership Lead the development of group-wide strategic initiatives aligned to the corporate plan Identify and assess key strategic opportunities through robust qualitative and quantitative analysis Frame and structure complex strategic problems using best-practice strategic frameworks Enterprise Strategy Delivery Lead cross-functional strategic workstreams involving business leaders, SMEs and external advisors Develop clear strategic options, recommendations and implementation roadmaps Translate analysis into actionable insights to support executive decision-making Stakeholder & Executive Engagement Present strategic recommendations to senior leadership and steering committees Facilitate workshops and working groups across the organisation Influence and guide senior stakeholders on strategic direction and priorities Candidate Profile 7–12 years’ experience in strategy, ideally from top tier management consulting (MBB / LEK / Kearney / Oliver Wyman ) or a leading corporate strategy team. Likely operating at Engagement Manager, Senior Manager, Principal or equivalent level. Strong experience in structured problem solving, strategic frameworks and hypothesis-driven analysis. Advanced financial modelling, business case development and scenario analysis capabilities. Exposure to banking or financial services strategy highly desirable. Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders. Tertiary qualifications in commerce, economics, finance, statistics or a related discipline.
