Sydney Salary between $97,401 - $115,820 Permanent Applications close at 11:59pm AEDT, Wednesday 1 April 2026 The team ASIC's Markets Group is responsible for ensuring Australia's financial markets operate with integrity, resilience and transparency, so investors can have trust and confidence in the financial system. Within Markets Group, Market Infrastructure authorises and supervises financial market infrastructure operators in Australia, including clearing and settlement facilities. The Clearing and Settlement Oversight team oversees post-trade infrastructure across exchange-traded and over-the-counter markets and works closely with domestic and international regulatory partners, including the Reserve Bank of Australia. The team also supports the supervision of significant market infrastructure change and technology transformation across the sector. The role As an Analyst, Clearing and Settlement Oversight, you will contribute to ASIC's regulatory oversight of post-trade market infrastructure, supporting effective supervision, regulatory decision-making and policy implementation to promote stable, secure and resilient markets. Identifying, assessing and supporting regulatory strategies and interventions to promote compliance with the law across clearing and settlement facilities Assessing applications made under legislation and providing clear, evidence-based advice and recommendations to decision-makers Conducting research and analysis on emerging issues, market developments and evolving financial products Preparing high-quality written material, including reports, briefs, submissions and correspondence for senior leaders and external stakeholders Supporting risk-based supervision activities, including the collection, analysis and communication of data and insights Building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external regulatory counterparts About you You bring solid analytical and research experience, ideally gained in a regulatory, government, consulting, corporate or academic environment. You hold tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance, economics or law, and have the ability to quickly build regulatory and sector knowledge, including relevant legislation and market infrastructure. You are comfortable working with both qualitative and quantitative information, assessing complex material, exercising sound judgement and producing clear, accurate analysis and advice. You are a clear and confident communicator who can translate complex issues into meaningful insights for a range of audiences. You demonstrate curiosity, critical thinking and strong attention to detail, and enjoy working collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
