Housing Officer Your new company Hays is recruiting a Temp Housing Officer for a highly credited charity in WA. Your new role As a Housing Officer, you'll support safe, secure and sustainable houses across 36 houses in WA. The role will include managing the tenants, making sure property maintenance is up-to-date and engaging with the tenants and partners to promote long-term housing stability. Using a trauma-informed, person-centred approach, you will need to help tenants sustain their tenancies by addressing issues related to the housing, providing information and linking them to the appropriate services. This position also safeguards the Society's housing portfolio and ensures compliance with legislation, including the Residential Tenancies Act. What you'll need to succeed - Relevant qualifications or experience working within the community housing sector. Experience working with people with complex needs. This includes mental health, disabilities, homelessness, substance use and/or financial disadvantages. Written, and verbal communication needs to be strong. Need to demonstrate knowledge and capacity to carry out the Residential Tenancy Act 1987 and other relative legal requirements. Proficiency in Chintaro, Zavanti, or other property management databases. Ability to work and liaise with specialised support services and to organise case meetings. An understanding of the Housing First principles of the supportive landlord and model framework Enact values that are consistent with low barrier and trauma informed care approaches.
