Job Summary The Wangs Food Pty Ltd seeking an experienced and reliable Chinese Cook to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. The role involves preparing and cooking a wide range of authentic Chinese dishes, maintaining food quality and consistency, and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen in a busy restaurant environment. Key Duties and Responsibilities Prepare, season and cook a variety of authentic Chinese dishes, including stir-fries, noodles, soups, dumplings, and regional specialty dishes Assist in planning menus and suggesting new dishes in line with customer demand and business needs Ensure food is prepared and presented to a high standard with consistent taste, portion size, and quality Monitor and maintain stock levels of ingredients and kitchen supplies Inspect raw ingredients and food products to ensure quality standards are met Store food safely and comply with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation requirements Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and service during busy periods Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, cooking stations, and food preparation areas Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times Skills and Experience Required At least 2 years of relevant full-time work experience as a Cook, preferably in Chinese cuisine Ability to prepare a broad range of traditional Chinese dishes independently Strong knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques, ingredients, sauces, seasonings, and presentation styles Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment Good understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team Qualification Requirements Relevant Certificate III qualification or at least 2 years of relevant work experience may be considered Chinese cuisine experience is essential Other Requirements Available to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required Positive attitude and strong work ethic
