We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated individual to join our team as a Foster Carer Recruitment worker in our office in Bruce ACT. This position has a dual purpose of Foster Carer Recruitment (including training and assessing carers), Carer support and Intake Worker. Foster Carer Recruitment purpose is to engage with Program Leadership and our National Carer Recruitment Team and support the National Carer Recruitment Team and activities associated with Foster Carer recruitment and accreditation; this includes and is not limited to activities such as marketing, enquiry, face-to face screenings, information sessions, completion of required documentation, training and assessing of potential Foster Carers, and preparation of documentation for accreditation. The Carer support role is to provide support to carers as they move through the end to end caring experience. This will also include conducting annual reviews and home visit checklists. The Intake Worker purpose is to review and prioritise Children and Young People referrals and assess the available Foster Carer pool and identify the most appropriate placement match and facilitate placement in consultation with appointed Case Managers and Foster Carer, and completion of all processes, documentation, and system reporting required. Skills & Experience required: • Understanding of theoretical frameworks relevant to children in alternative care. • Knowledge and application of child protection legislation and practices for children at risk. • Demonstrated achievement of outcomes through advocacy on behalf of those in need. • Application of Foster Care Assessment skills. • Demonstrated ability to facilitate training sessions to foster care applicants/foster Foster Carers • Demonstrated capability in conflict resolution, influence, and negotiation skills. • Knowledge of the statutory and related service systems as they relate to out of home care. • Experience working in the Out of Home Care sector highly desirable. • Experience working with complex families desirable. • Experience of complex case management working with children, young people, and families. • Strong problem-solving capability, developing solutions to meet client needs. • Excellent time management, organised, well developed interpersonal skills. • Solid professional judgement. Essential - Tertiary qualification in social work , community services or equivalent that is recognised in Australia Desirable - Foster Care Training & Assessment Skills/training ( Eg.
