What We Are Looking For This is an exciting opportunity to work with an ever-changing dynamic team within the Mid-Western Regional Council. This is a full time role, working 35 hours per week with 1 Rostered Day Off every 4 weeks, based in Mudgee. The salary range being offered for this full-time position is $2,712.20-$3,052.90 gross per fortnight plus superannuation which equates to an annual salary of $70,517.20-$79,375.40 gross plus superannuation (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience). These arrangements are considered in line with operational needs and include opportunity to work from home. Key Accountabilities Maintain specialist knowledge of cemetery legislation, regulations and Council policies. Develop, implement, and regularly review standard operating procedures in-line with best practise, using risk assessments and compliance tools to ensure all cemetery operations meet statutory and policy requirements.Provide timely and accurate customer service with a strong focus on compassion and empathy. Manage enquiries, resolve issues, and provide professional support to funeral directors, families and relevant agencies.Coordinate all cemetery bookings, interment arrangements and associated processes. Prepare and execute contracts in accordance with legislation and Council policy and provide guidance on available interment options.Develop, maintain, and oversee accurate cemetery records, burial registers, reservations, and interment contracts. Ensure all correspondence and documentation meet required standards and are recorded in Council’s records management systems.Identify, assess, and report operational and service delivery risks associated with cemetery operations. Fulfil all mandatory reporting obligations by preparing accurate, timely, and compliant documentation for internal and external regulatory bodies.Maintain and enhance Council’s cemetery management systems and databases. Support forward planning for cemetery services, identify operational improvements, and recommend initiatives to ensure efficiency, compliance, and long-term service capability.Assist in the preparation and monitoring of operational and capital works budgets. Support financial processes associated with cemetery operations.Assist with the application, implementation and ongoing monitoring of Council’s WHS Management System, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, risk assessments, and safe work practices across all cemetery operations.Promote and demonstrate Council’s core values and behavioural expectations as outlined in the Workplace Environment StatementUndertake additional tasks, projects, or responsibilities as directed, in line with skills, competence, and training.
