The role supports the provision of evidence-based, gender-centric, culturally safe and trauma-informed services for women, with a commitment to ongoing continuous improvement and responsible service delivery. The role will ensure that contracted services are meeting key performance indicators, outputs, and outcomes and the Government’s priorities and commitments to improving the experiences, treatment, and rehabilitation of women in QCS custody and care. The Essential Requirements For This Role Are A thorough understanding of the drivers and evidence-informed responses to over-representation of First Nations women in the criminal justice system. Knowledge of the unique needs of women as primary caregivers and victim-survivors in the criminal justice system, including a strong understanding of intersectional issues of mental health and wellbeing, trauma, domestic and family violence, substance dependencies, and parenting responsibilities. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and maintaining professional knowledge and practice in areas that specifically relate to responding to the needs of women in the criminal justice system. Experience or exposure to operational practice within a complex human service environment, preferably a correctional context. Experience in implementing, managing, monitoring and reviewing human service provision to deliver agreed outputs and outcomes. Well-developed written and oral communication skills, including high-level interpersonal skills for liaising with diverse stakeholders to build and manage ongoing working relationships. Effective time management and organisational skills with the ability to self-manage priorities, coordinate activities and meet deadlines. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, maintaining integrity, transparency, professional discretion, sound judgement and decision making, with the ability to escalate risk and issues as required. High level research and analytical skills for identifying and investigating risks and issues, analysing trends associated with women in the criminal justice system, and informing procurement and contract processes. Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders, who often have competing interests on sensitive and complex issues, to gain commitments and negotiate service delivery, priorities, deadlines, and resources. Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, or the ability to acquire knowledge rapidly. Experience in procurement, contract and program management lifecycles, or the ability to acquire skills rapidly. However, tertiary human services or criminology qualifications, including psychology, behavioural science, or social science, will be highly regarded.
