This branch leads the development and delivery of communication and engagement strategies that help the community understand, support and trust Icon Water’s infrastructure projects and programs.About this role: This role plays a key part in strengthening confidence, transparency and community trust in Icon Water’s infrastructure projects and programs. By delivering clear, consistent communication and fostering meaningful engagement, the Project Communications and Engagement Coordinator helps the community understand what we’re building, why it matters, and how it will shape the future of the ACT region.Responsibilities of this role: In this role, you will lead the development and delivery of internal and external communication and engagement approaches for Icon Water’s infrastructure programs and projects. You will tailor messaging for customers, staff, stakeholders and community groups, ensuring information is clear, accessible and aligned with project needs. You will also coordinate engagement activities, support media and stakeholder interactions, and work closely with technical teams to ensure communication is accurate, timely and connected to project delivery.You will also be required to:Produce clear, accessible content across multiple channels (web, social media, newsletters, community updates), ensuring consistent branding, tone and style.Coordinate internal communications to ensure staff are informed and engaged with project and program delivery.Plan and lead community engagement activities for the projects and programs, and support stakeholder engagement activities as required.Monitor public sentiment and proactively manage risks to reputation.Work closely with the Media and Communications Coordinator to manage media relations for projects and programs, including preparing media holding statements and media releases, coordinating responses to inquiries and supporting proactive media opportunities.Coordinate prompt responses to community enquiries, including complaints, relating to infrastructures projects.Track and evaluate the impact of communication and engagement activities, using insights to improve strategies and demonstrate results. Prepare regular reports and insights on communication and engagement outcomes.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, site surveillance officers, technical teams, and leaders to align communications and engagement with project delivery and provide other communication and engagement support and advice as needed.Who we are looking for: We are looking for suitable candidates with a Degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field.
