Job description This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and knowledgeable heavy vehicle workshop manager to lead & support a high performing, professional maintenance & repair team. The Company This NSW road transport business is extremely solid, reliable and reputable. It's also been growing rather quickly in recent years too. Vehicles range from medium rigid trucks through to prime movers, with trailing equipment ranging from flat decks through b doubles, all the way to specialist heavy haulage expendables. The role Reporting directly to the Owner, the Workshop Manager is responsible for overseeing all of the mechanical workshop functions, from regular maintenance and servicing through to rebuilds, repairs and modifications of trucks and trailers. Trades include diesel mechanics / fitters (in the workshiop and mobile) panel beater and spray painter. Responsibilities include: Planning and supervising all workshop activities Liaising with transport managers to coordinate and schedule works as well as vehicle / trailer work readiness for work. Leading, managing and developing the workshop team in a way that supports high performance, skills and career growth, and a positive, supportive and professional culture Ensuring fleet condition, safety and presentation are of an extremely high standard Meeting targets in quality, efficiency, timeliness, cost-control and team culture Reviewing and updating processes and methods for continual improvement in practices, outcomes and safety. You You will have significant and broad experience in managing a heavy vehicle workshop, working with this type of equipment. You'll have been very hands-on earlier in your career, and will have progressed through to a leadership role where excellent planning and management has ensured that high quality, on-time outcomes are the norm.
