About the role The Operational Technology (C&I) Engineer will have a focus on Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls and Operational Technology specifically related to PLC upgrades and instrumentation systems. You will lead the development of PLC and DCS upgrade strategies including defining scopes of work, hardware specifications, execution approaches and project cost estimates. You'll also provide specialist engineering support for electrical, instrumentation and control systems. This is a max term contract position until the end of 2026, based onsite at the Tallawarra Power Station just south of Wollongong. About you Tertiary qualification in Electrical or Process Control Engineering (or equivalent) Proven heavy industrial experience with control system upgrades (DCS, SIS, PLC, SCADA) Hands-on experience with power generation equipment: generators, circuit breakers, transformers, HV/LV switchboards and motors, electrical protection systems Strong background in industrial control systems: DCS, PLCs, alarm systems, instrumentation, and data archive systems Demonstrated capability in designing, configuring, and implementing plant process controls and automation in OT environments Practical experience with industrial networking of operational technology in asset-intensive operations If you're ready to ‘light the way' towards your next career move, Apply now as applications close Wednesday 4 March 2026. About the Site Tallawarra is one of Australia's most environmentally efficient, large-scale gas-fired power stations. It comprises a combined cycle and open cycle gas-fired station with fast-start capability, producing less carbon emissions than conventional coal-fired power stations. The station's generation capacity is Tallawarra A at 460 MW and Tallawarra B at 320 MW - which is enough power to supply up to 350,000 homes.
