This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy and supportive team working on structural steel projects . Strong MIG welding skills are essential. Key Responsibilities: Fabricate, assemble and MIG weld heavy structural steel components in accordance with engineering specifications and project requirements Perform high-quality MIG welding on thick plate and structural steel, ensuring strong, accurate and visually acceptable welds Measure, mark out, square and accurately set up components prior to fabrication and welding Read, interpret and visualise design and engineered drawings to plan fabrication sequences Cut, drill, grind and prepare steel materials to required sizes using workshop machinery and hand tools Maintain a strong focus on workplace health and safety following all site policies and procedures Keep the workshop clean, organised and compliant with safety standards Work collaboratively with supervisors, fitters and other trades to meet production schedules and deadlines Identify potential issues in fabrication or drawings and communicate effectively with the team to resolve them Requirements: Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident Trade-qualified Boilermaker / Fabricator (Certificate III Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent) Demonstrated experience in fabrication and welding preferably within heavy structural steel or similar heavy industry environments High level of proficiency in MIG welding, including welding of thick materials Strong ability to read and interpret technical, design and engineered drawings Mechanically minded with a practical problem-solving approach High attention to detail, strong work ethic, reliability and a positive attitude Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team Willingness to commit to long-term employment and grow within the business Physically capable of performing manual handling tasks associated with heavy steel fabrication If you believe you are the right fit for this opportunity, hit apply now!
