For over 35 years, our Host Employer has been working with various clients to produce high quality plating and metal polished parts and materials. Whether it be electro-plating, metal polishing, lacquering or colouring, our Host Employer produces equipment that meets both national and internal standards (ISO). With only being 1 of 3 business still in operation in SA, they are looking for the next generation of electroplaters to continue their legacy of offering quality electroplating and metal polishing services while completing a nationally recognised qualification in Engineering - Fabrication About the role: Learn the fundamentals of electroplating processes and work on various metal and alloy plating (e.g. tin, chrome, silver) Clean and polish metals parts for plating to make metal surfaces "look good" Inspect items for defects and ensure quality standards - meeting internal standards (ISO) Assist in plating operations under supervision - our Host Employer has over 35 years of industry experience Maintain an organised workspace and adhere to safety protocol About you: Passionate about anything engineering - think car clubs, motorcycle clubs, customs/vintage cars or performance/aftermarket (getting into the intricate parts of complex machinery) Someone that aced chemistry as part of their SACE with great problem-solving skills Precision and accuracy when completing any electroplating works with good hand-eye coordination Have good communication skills and build industry connections within the aerospace, defence, maritime or mining industries Trustworthy, honest, disciplined and resilient Previous work experience or a Certificate II in Engineering - highly advantageous Benefits: Comprehensive on-the-job training and mentorship from experienced technicians Ongoing support throughout your apprenticeship from your WPC Group Mentor Access to the latest electroplating technology and tools Build connections with various industries including aerospace, defence, maritime, mining, and automotive.
