Victoria Park Play & Learn is a welcoming, owner operated Early Learning Centre where relationships, quality education and children’s wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do. We are a new centre with increasing enrolments looking for an experienced full time Diploma Qualified Team Leader for our Nursery with 12 babies giving a great opportunity to shape this room. This role is ideal for an educator ready to step into leadership, mentor others and play an active role in shaping the daily learning experience for children. About the Role As Team Leader, you will work closely with the Educational Leader and Centre Management to design, implement and evaluate child-focused programs that align with: Centre Philosophy & Policies Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) National Quality Standards (NQS) Child Care Regulations and NQF You will be responsible for the educators within your room and will act as a role model, mentor and leader within the team. Key Responsibilities Care for the Children Develop positive, supportive relationships with children Collaborate with the Educational Leader to create quality learning environments Advocate for children’s rights, safety and wellbeing in all aspects of care Partnerships with Families & Community Build strong, respectful relationships with families Encourage family involvement in the curriculum Participate in community engagement activities Leadership & Team Participation Communicate effectively and contribute positively within the team Lead and support educators within your room Support student placements in line with Play & Learn guidelines Mentor educators and assist with Performance Development Plans (PDPs) Maintain a reflective, professional approach to practice Health, Safety & Protective Care Ensure learning environments are clean, safe and hygienic Respond appropriately to illness, incidents and emergencies Assist management with Workplace Health & Safety and Food Safety Program requirements Follow Centre policies regarding hygiene, safety and OSH practices Operational Management Work within Centre Policies and Procedures Complete administrative tasks as required Maintain strict confidentiality Fulfil the role of ‘Person in Charge’ when required Selection Criteria Essential Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care (or approved equivalent) HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting Current Working With Children Card* Knowledge and understanding of EYLF and NQS Proven experience developing and implementing programs for children 0–6 years Strong communication skills with children, families and staff Ability to work effectively in a team Knowledge of Microsoft Office Desirable Experience supervising staff Knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety legislation Understanding of current issues and best practice in Children’s Services Certificates marked with an asterisk can be obtained after successful employment.
