About us: Happy Haven OSHC is a South Australian-owned and operated company managing 47 OSHC services across the state. We are an Approved Provider with an expert team capable of running outstanding OSHC programs on school sites. About the role: Join us as an Education & Care Safety Advisor and play a key role in ensuring that all Happy Haven OSHC services and teams operate within a safe and healthy work and child safe environment. You will make a significant impact by supporting our efforts to meet regulatory requirements and uphold the wellbeing of the children under our care. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain up to date policies and procedures. Develop and maintain a digital audit checklist that includes hazards, emergency procedures, Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) signage, medication management requirements, safe food practices and fire safety. Develop a schedule for auditing all services using approved digital WH&S Audit Checklist. Provide visibility and insight as to auditing schedules and results. Conduct regular and consistent compliance visits as determined by a pre-approved schedule, with the schedule visible to all relevant teams including Executive Leadership. Communicate checklist outcomes outlining required action, with follow up procedure activated. Registration and maintenance of licensing and accreditation, including Sun Safety accreditation, Asthma Friendly accreditation and Food Licensing certification. Develop, review and maintain Workplace Health and Safety Compliance Audit Procedure. Develop a framework for all risk assessments that meet needs of compliance audit. Provide approvals and oversight of organisation-wide risk assessments. Develop, implement and maintain digitised organisation-wide risk assessment procedures, workflows and processes that cover: Assessment schedule. Risk assessment matrix with delegation schedules. Risk mitigation and resolution. Escalation points and sign-off process. Non-compliance process. Review process. Develop digitised risk assessments profile and mitigation schedules for all services, clearly distinguishing high, medium and low-level risk. Provide advice to Business Unit Leaders on Work Health and Safety incidents. During any Requests for Quote (RFQ) process, perform proactive compliance checks of proposed licensed spaces to identify issues as part of the "bid/ no bid" response process prior to contract commencement. At the request of the Primary Return to Work (RTW) Co-ordinator, engage in RTW claims as required to provide independent assessment for compliance and safety. Requirements: Must have an in-depth understanding of Education & Care National Regulations and Work Health and Safety requirements in education and care settings Diploma in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent relevant experience) Ability to develop assessment tools and processes for improving the delivery of OSHC services Understanding and experience in risk escalation process and reporting Proficiency in using digital tools and Microsoft Office Suite Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively report and interact with various teams Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities Current valid Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel to various OSHC locations, as required Hold or willing to obtain a valid National Police Check Hold or willing to obtain a valid Working with Children Check Hold or be willing to obtain Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (RHHAN-EC) certificate Desired: Understanding of NQAITS guidelines and processes Kidsafe SA Playground training Food Safety Supervisor Certification Why Happy Haven OSHC?
