Due to an increase in workload, we are looking to hire an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to complement our highly skilled team. This is a contract position based in our Jandakot Office. The main responsibilities of the role are: Creating conceptual designs. Performing engineering calculations and analysis. Conducting or participating in design reviews. Creating complete design packages with drawings, BOM’s, and documentation. Designing enabling equipment, such as test fixtures, handling aids, etc. Participating in operational risk assessments. Designing modifications to existing equipment. Preparing scopes of supply and general arrangements. Providing cost estimates for proposals. Preparing project-specific procedures or manuals. Performing product testing onshore or offshore. Writing test procedures and building specialized testing equipment. Writing and reviewing technical proposals and specifications. Supporting and communicating with customers, project managers, project engineers, and technicians. Providing engineering status and progress reports. Essential Qualifications and Attributes: Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering. Experience with AutoCAD, Solidworks or similar 3D CAD packages. Knowledge of Word, Excel, and AutoCAD. Uncompromising attitude toward safety. Minimum 2-5 years’ relevant engineering experience. Desired Qualifications and Attributes: Experience performing FEA, structural calculations, and hydraulic analysis. Knowledge of subsea ROV tooling is strongly desired. Knowledge of operations in the subsea industry is strongly desired. Experience with electro-hydraulic control systems. Ability to work within tight deadlines. Ability to work under general direction. Ability to work in a high-pressure onshore/offshore environment. Studies or project work with ROV and/or Subsea equipment design and engineering. Hands on mechanical experience such as building or repairing large or small engines or machines.
