Join a growing national fleet business! Our client is a rapidly expanding national fleet and rental organisation with operations across Queensland and beyond. With a strong focus on safety, compliance, and operational reliability, they are seeking an experienced Fleet Coordinator to support their QLD rental fleet from their Townsville depot. This is a high-impact, hands-on role suited to someone with strong fleet, maintenance, or heavy vehicle experience who enjoys being on the move, solving problems, and working closely with depots and suppliers. About the role Working closely with the broader fleet team, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day coordination and oversight of a portion of the QLD rental fleet. The fleet includes light vehicles, utes, trucks, trailers, and medium to heavy vehicles. You’ll work directly with depot teams and external suppliers to ensure vehicles remain safe, compliant, and operational, while minimising downtime and supporting frontline rental operations. Travel to regional locations across QLD will be required from time to time to conduct fleet audits and provide on-site support. Your responsibilities Fleet & Maintenance Coordination • Coordinate fleet maintenance, servicing, and repair schedules • Liaise with depots and suppliers to ensure timely servicing and minimal downtime • Manage accident and repair processes, including documentation and follow-up • Control fleet costs by using approved suppliers and following internal processes Compliance & Safety • Maintain accurate, up-to-date fleet documentation • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and HVNL requirements • Support cost, compliance, and fleet reporting Depot & Operational Support • Assist with depot tasks including customer handovers, vehicle returns, and rental preparation • Support intrastate fleet needs and occasional after-hours breakdown triage (supported by a 24/7 call centre) • Conduct regional fleet audits as required What we’re looking for We’re seeking individuals who: • Have 2 years’ experience in fleet maintenance or fleet management (ideally 50 vehicles) • Hold a trade qualification in an automotive field (highly desirable) • Have hands-on experience with commercial and heavy vehicle repairs • Understand HVNL legislation and national registration requirements • Are confident managing suppliers, negotiating outcomes, and resolving issues • Have strong problem-solving skills and solid computer literacy • Are proactive, organised, and comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced environment • Hold, or are willing to obtain, a minimum HR licence If you’re driven, practical, and enjoy taking ownership of fleet performance while working closely with operational teams, we’d love to hear from you.
