The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly motivated, empathetic, and organised Receptionist to be the welcoming first point of contact for our patients. This is a crucial role working between both our busy clinics, responsible for ensuring a smooth and positive experience for individuals often attending during a time of stress or pain. Key Responsibilities: Patient Engagement: Warmly greet and welcome all patients and visitors, both in person and over the phone. Appointment Management: Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments efficiently. Patient Registration: Accurately register new patients, update existing patient details, and manage medical records with strict confidentiality. Billing & Payments: Process patient payments, manage Medicare, Workcover, private health insurance claims, and handle invoicing. Communication Hub: Answer incoming calls, respond to emails, and direct enquiries appropriately to clinical staff and fellow colleagues. Clinic Presentation: Maintain a tidy, organised, and welcoming reception and waiting area. Administrative Support: Assist with general administrative tasks, including scanning, filing, managing referrals. Liaison: Effectively liaise with doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, hospitals, and other external providers. Problem Solving: Proactively address patient queries and concerns with a professional and compassionate approach. About You: Experience: Previous experience in a medical reception role, (orthopaedics or similar specialty highly regarded). Customer Service Excellence: Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills with a patient-centric approach. Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically, especially with patients who may be in pain or distress. Organisation & Attention to Detail: Impeccable organisational skills, flexibility, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently in a busy environment. Team Player: A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work collaboratively within a small, dedicated team. Discretion & Confidentiality: Understanding and strict adherence to patient confidentiality and privacy.
