The Company This is a well-known Australian manufacturer and distributor in the home improvement and building products space, with a brand people actually recognise and a network that keeps the commercial wheels turning. They are busy, practical and hands-on, the kind of place where problems get solved quickly because the warehouse is nearby and people still pick up the phone. With year-end landing at the end of March and audit close behind, they need extra horsepower in finance immediately. The good news: the outgoing Accounts Officer is staying on in a reduced capacity into April, so you get a proper handover, not a “good luck and Godspeed” sticky note. The Role This is a hands-on Accounts Officer temp assignment supporting the largest business unit business. You’ll run combined AP and AR, keep banking and reconciliations tidy and stay on top of expenses and cards. It’s a role for a doer, someone who can keep pace, talk to people confidently and keep the ledger clean while the business keeps moving. Duties will include but not be limited to:- End-to-end Accounts Payable (approximately 100 to 150 invoices per month), processing, coding and query resolution End-to-end Accounts Receivable across roughly 120 customers, statements, follow-up and payment plan conversations Daily banking tasks and bank reconciliations, allocating receipts and applying payments Corporate cards and employee expenses, follow-up, coding review and processing Support month-end activities, year-end preparation and audit-related tasks as required Be the friendly finance “go-to” in the office, plenty of internal walk-ups from warehouse and procurement About You You’re steady under pressure, not precious about rolling your sleeves up and you don’t melt when the phone rings. You can chase payment, you can juggle priorities without dropping accuracy and you like being part of the day-to-day rhythm of an office. You’ll also appreciate the handover window. You’re not walking into chaos, you’re walking into a role with someone still around to show you where the bodies aren’t buried. Skills & Experience Proven experience in a combined AP/AR role, owning the end-to-end workflow Strong banking and reconciliation capability, confident allocating receipts and processing payments Comfortable with collections calls, overdue accounts and setting payment plans when required Systems confidence is essential, MYOB Acumatica experience ideal, strong Excel and MS Office Practical, reliable and responsive, you finish what you start and you keep stakeholders in the loop Happy to be office-based 5 days (with flexibility discussed for standout candidates once settled) What’s On Offer Immediate start temp assignment, ideally Wednesday or Thursday Genuine handover support, outgoing Accounts Officer likely available part-time into mid-April Busy, hands-on role with real stakeholder interaction, not a lonely spreadsheet cave Flexible start and finish times within sensible business hours Strong chance of extension through year-end and audit, with longer-term potential depending on fit and business needs Apply Now If you’re an experienced Accounts Officer who can start quickly and keep AP, AR and banking humming, apply today.
