Purchasing Officer required for a short-term assignment | 3-6 months Your new role We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to join a well-established organisation operating within the mining industry. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands the urgency of supply in heavy industry. In this role, you will support the existing purchasing team with a new ERP rollout. Key responsibilities: Source, evaluate and procure mining parts and services Interpret parts and technical specifications to ensure accurate purchasing Build and maintain strong supplier relationships Negotiate pricing, lead times, and contract terms Manage purchase orders, inventory requirements, and delivery schedules - proactive management of Vendor purchase orders including back orders and overdue orders Work closely with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to meet site need - expedite parts to ensure on time deliveries to sites What you'll need to succeed Experience using large ERP systems (eg SAP, Oracle etc) Previous purchasing experience within mining Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks What you'll get in return You will be joining a respected organisation with a strong industry presence, where your expertise in mining parts and procurement will directly support operational success.
