We’re seeking a hands‑on Procurement Team Leader who enjoys partnering with clinicians, supporting a small team, visiting hospital sites, and strengthening supplier relationships. What This Role Is Really About This is not a corporate ‘manager’ role. It suits someone who is confident in procurement, enjoys leading a small team, and thrives on building strong working relationships. Reporting directly to the CFO, you’ll support procurement operations across all VSS hospitals while staying closely connected with the teams who rely on you. Regular travel between sites helps you understand local needs and ensure consistency. Your Day‑to‑Day Will Include • Leading, coaching, and supporting a small team of Procurement Officers • Building collaborative relationships with clinicians, nurses, and hospital managers • Travelling between sites to stay connected with operational needs • Sourcing pharmaceuticals, consumables, equipment, and surgical supplies • Negotiating with suppliers for improved value, reliability, and contract outcomes • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including Schedule 8 substances • Maintaining the EzyVet product database and assisting with purchasing/receipting What You’ll Bring Essential • Procurement experience within healthcare, veterinary, or a similar environment • Ability to guide and support a small team — approachable, organised, and practical • Strong relationship‑building skills with clinicians, internal teams, and suppliers • Confident supplier negotiator with contract management experience • Understanding of Schedule 8 requirements and general procurement compliance • Clear, professional communication across all stakeholders Bonus Skills • A qualification in Procurement, Business, or Supply Chain • Experience with EzyVet or other healthcare/veterinary ERP systems • Familiarity with procurement KPIs and reporting Why You’ll Love Working With Us • Be part of a respected and established specialist veterinary network • Work with teams who genuinely value compassion, professionalism, and integrity • See the direct impact of your work on specialist patient care • Contribute to process improvements and operational alignment across sites How to Apply Please submit your CV and a cover letter that addresses the Key Responsibilities and Essential Criteria.
