Arcadia College is a Co-Ed Special Assistance Independent, Non Denominational, Secondary School for young people who have disengaged from mainstream schooling. We are located in our beautiful purpose built school in Robina, Gold Coast, next to the Robina Station. We are seeking a registered and qualified nurse to join our welfare team. Applicants must be passionate about, and have proven experience in, adolescent health and well being and preferably specialised in paediatric care. Work experience in a school setting is preferred. Candidates should also have experience in chronic illness management, sports injury management, wound care, and other contemporary adolescent health care issues including mental health. The role is primarily responsible for: Compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements First aid, triage, and assessment of students Providing general health care to students and the college community as appropriate to their needs and situation Mental Health Nursing experience Administering medication to students, which is supplied by parents/guardians Liaising with parents/guardians, teachers, support, and executive staff as necessary about the health needs of students Maintaining accurate and up to date records of students with anaphylaxis, asthma, epilepsy, and other chronic conditions Liaising with staff about first aid requirements on excursions and at sport activities Stock maintenance, controls and ordering of goods and services required for our health department. Promoting and assisting with proactive healthcare initiatives such as immunization, early detection, and promoting healthy habits and practices across the school community Provide administrative support as required Working collaboratively with other staff to promote the College's values Selection Criteria: Experienced, Qualified Nurse registered to practice in Qld, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation certificate and trained in responding to anaphylaxis and asthma. Recent paediatric/adolescent healthcare/school experience. Mental Health Nursing experience, including working with disengaged and at risk young people (e.g. LGBTQIA) Sports first aid and wound care experience. Ability to establish rapport and build strong relationships. Excellent time management organisational, and record management skills. Flexibility and an ability to adapt and operate effectively in a fast paced changing environment. Demonstrates high-level computer skills and literacy, with a comprehensive knowledge of computer packages including Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Outlook.
