The Opportunity As a full‑time, permanent Collections Manager , you’ll be responsible for leading Shine’s cash collection and accounts receivable function, ensuring the effective management and recovery of all outstanding accounts owed to the business. This role will suit a self-starter enjoys picking up the phone, connecting with people, and securing payment outcomes. You’ll enjoy the chase, stay hands‑on in recovery from people who owe us, and take real satisfaction in turning overdue accounts into cash. Based in our Brisbane CBD head office and reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you’ll lead another collections officer, and play a critical role in supporting our progressive and authentic firm as we champion what’s right. It is also a great opportunity to shape Shine’s collections function. While the current process is heavily Excel based and manual, you’ll relish the chance to optimise existing processes. There are plans to embed a new system, and you’ll lead this development for our Finance team using your wealth of experience. Here’s how you’ll help us stay ahead of the pack: Leading the collections function by overseeing and undertaking cash collection and debt recovery activities to ensure timely, compliant and effective outcomes. Driving debt recovery and risk management through proactive management of aged debtors, payment plans, write‑offs, debt provisioning and engagement with external recovery partners. Providing financial insight and reporting by preparing aged receivables, debt provisioning and cash flow forecasts to support financial planning and decision‑making. Leading and developing the Collections team to deliver high‑quality results through effective people leadership and future implementation and development of our collections system. Partnering with key stakeholders across finance, legal and operational teams to resolve credit matters, improve processes and support continuous improvement. What you’ll bring To thrive in this role, you will have: Advanced knowledge of debt collection requirements, credit, accounts receivable across Australia and New Zealand, especially of the legal processes end-to-end. Excellent phone-based communication and influencing skills – you will be a natural negotiator who is able to create win/win outcomes. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft (e.g. Outlook, Excel, including manipulating data). Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving skills.
