We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Financial Reporting Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our financial reporting function and strengthen the financial foundation across Affinity Education Group (AEG). Reporting to the Head of Finance and CFO, this role plays a pivotal part in delivering transparent, timely, and high-quality financial outcomes. You’ll leverage your technical expertise to enhance financial monitoring and accountability while driving system and process improvements that support AEG’s growth. The role: Lead the daily operations of the Financial Reporting function, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and organisational policies. Manage the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cashflows, and board reports. Oversee and improve financial systems, policies, and processes to increase efficiency and accuracy across the organisation. Ensure compliance with all financial, tax, and legal requirements, including reporting to government and regulatory bodies. Manage the external audit process and maintain strong relationships with auditors, advisors, and financial institutions. Provide technical accounting advice to internal stakeholders and support key organisational projects with financial insights. Lead and mentor the finance team to foster collaboration, professional growth, and accountability. What you’ll bring: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar discipline, with Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification. Minimum of 5 years’ financial accounting experience, including 2 years in a similar leadership role. Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, taxation law, and financial systems. Demonstrated experience preparing consolidated accounts and managing intercompany transactions. Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. A collaborative, proactive, and positive attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement.
