The Opportunity The role builds strong relationships with landowners, communities and key stakeholders, provides strategic advice on emerging issues, and represents the project at public engagement activities. It supports the assessment and tracking of community benefit initiatives, prepares clear construction‑related communications, and ensure critical landholder information is captured and entered into appropriate systems. The role collaborates across project teams to ensure consistent, transparent engagement and requires regular regional travel to support on‑the‑ground activities. Job Tasks and Responsibilities Develop and implement stakeholder and community engagement plans aligned with project objectives. Lead community consultation activities, ensuring feedback is captured, analysed and integrated into engagement strategies. Build and maintain strong relationships with communities, landowners, local government, industry groups and key stakeholders. Support the development, assessment and implementation of community benefit initiatives, including research, feasibility assessment and reporting. Undertake research and identify opportunities to increase local participation and local spend within project delivery. Support the mapping, recording and monitoring of community benefit initiatives to track progress, impacts and risks. Liaise closely with the landholder team to support development of the platform/system used to capture critical landholder information. Work collaboratively with internal teams including landholder engagement, planning, environment, construction and communications. Prepare community‑focused communication materials, briefings and reports for workforce site compounds and other construction‑related activities. Coordinate and deliver engagement activities such as events, information sessions, technical forums and landholder meetings. Oversee stakeholder enquiries, ensuring timely, factual, accurate and well‑recorded responses. Provide strategic advice to project leadership on emerging issues, risks and stakeholder concerns. Support the development and delivery of internal communications. Identify and assess proactive media opportunities to support the project’s reputation, including preparing media materials and coordinating with the client’s media and communications teams as required. Regular regional travel to support on‑the‑ground activities. Essential Skills / Qualifications Degree in communications, public relations, community engagement or a related field. Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in stakeholder engagement, community relations or a related field, ideally on major infrastructure projects. Significant experience in stakeholder and community engagement, ideally in infrastructure, utilities or government projects. Strong relationship‑building skills with landowners, community groups, government and industry stakeholders. Proven ability to provide strategic advice on emerging issues and manage sensitive or complex stakeholder matters. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively across multi‑disciplinary teams. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver engagement activities. Willingness to travel regionally for on‑the‑ground engagement. Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
