What you’ll do: Develop, maintain and enforce enterprise data governance frameworks, policies, standards and procedures to ensure data consistency, integrity, quality and compliance across all data assets. Define, measure, monitor and report on data quality metrics, proactively identifying issues and leading remediation activities in partnership with data owners, stewards and technical teams. Perform effective triage of incoming data issues and requests, ensuring accurate categorisation, prioritisation and routing to the appropriate teams for timely resolution. Provide redundancy and operational support to ensure continuity of critical data governance and quality functions, minimising disruption to business-critical data services. Collaborate with data stewards, data owners, analysts, IT and business stakeholders to establish, document and maintain clear data definitions, lineage and metadata to support transparency and trust in data What we are looking for: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Professional certification, accreditation or formal training in Data Governance, Data Quality, Information Management or Compliance. Demonstrated understanding of NSW regulatory frameworks related to data sharing, privacy and public access, including GIPA and relevant privacy legislation. Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, standards and best practices, including DAMA-DMBOK, metadata management and data lifecycle management. Solid technical literacy across data storage, access controls and data platforms (including cloud environments, APIs and shared enterprise systems) to ensure governance controls are practical and enforceable. Ability to influence and collaborate across business units, IT and analytics teams to resolve data issues and improve data quality outcomes.
